The Perspective at the Angle of 45°

A Unique Residential House in Keelung City

The Perspective at the Angle of 45° is a hillside home in Keelung City, R.O.C. that seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings. Designed by Ta-Wei Yu, this residential house offers a breathtaking view of the outdoor scenery through its innovative beveled interior settings.

All the designs of beveled spatial patterns in this partition-squared house are dedicated to capturing the beauty of nature. From the hardwood flooring to the dining table, bookshelves, and TV stand, every element is meticulously crafted in beveled geometry. Even the boardwalk and the hygrophyte pool in the balcony are arranged in a beveled style. The use of environment-friendly materials, such as veneer lumbers, reclaimed hardwoods, and steels, further enhances the sustainable nature of this design.

The total area of the property is 165 square meters, providing ample space for comfortable living. The unique beveled spatial patterns create an immersive experience, bringing the outdoor perspective into every corner of the house. The lobby features stone paving in echelon and hardwood flooring in a beveled fashion. Woody gratings running through the interior and exterior areas are obliquely aligned below the ceiling, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal.

Living in The Perspective at the Angle of 45° means living in harmony with nature. The design seamlessly integrates the indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing residents to enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding mountains. The attention to detail and the use of beveled geometry in every aspect of the design create a visually stunning and immersive living experience.

The project started in December 2014 and was completed by the end of May 2015. Throughout the design process, extensive research and experimentation were conducted to ensure the uniqueness and functionality of each element. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind residential house that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Perspective at the Angle of 45° has been recognized for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2016. This prestigious award is a testament to the outstanding expertise and innovation demonstrated by Ta-Wei Yu in creating this remarkable living space.
